Dr. Parnam Dhar, Faculty member of the department, Received the Best Paper Award at International Conference of IIMS AND AIS, ST. HALENS, NEW ZEALAND held at Penang, Malaysia in 2010 and received the Best Paper Award at 22nd International Accounting Conference of Indian Accounting Association held at Jiwaji University, Gwalior in 2009.
(a) Substantial number of the pass-out students of the department got job at Govt., Private, Semi-Govt. sectors. Students are in job at TCS, IBM, Capgemini, Progathi Solutions, HSBC, Prosar Bharati, Indian Railway etc.
(b) Many students qualified national and international level examination: NET (7 students), GATE (5 students), GRE (1 student, score 317/340), SSC, ISRO-JRF etc.
(c) Some of the students are pursuing PhD at various Universities/Institutes like, Cincinnati University (Ohio, USA), IIT-Bombay, Jadavpur University all with Scholarship etc.
(d) 2014: Dr. Arijit Roy, faculty member of the department reported breakthrough R&D results: Application of PSM for nano-interconnect patterning in IC manufacturing: http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.mee.2013.08.014, which can be used for mass production.
(e) 2011: Dr. Arijit Roy, faculty member of department, delivered Plenary Lecture titled “Recent Developments in IC Manufacturing Technologies” in IEEE International Conference on Communication and Industrial Application, 2011.
Chandrava Chakravarty, Faculty member of the department, Selected as an Asian Scholar of Eighteenth Century Studies by the Noel Foundation, Louisiana State University, USA in December 2014, received a grant to visit the Noel Foundation Archive and Library on Eighteenth Century Studies to be a part of its colloquium on International Enlightenment.
In collaboration with Dept. of Food & Nutrition of Rastraguru Surendranath College, organized UGC sponsored National Symposium on “Recent Trends in Research of Nutrition Science”, February 2012.
(a) PG Students: A number of pass-out students of the department are well engaged in film making and direction at national level film industries.
(b) A Short Documentary Film produced and directed by the students of this Department was screened in the Kolkata International Film Festival in 2011.
(a) Dr. Kausik Bandyopadhyay of the Department of History is the recipient of the Olympic Solidarity Grant from the International Olympic Committee, Lausanne for 2010, and was subsequently a Fellow of the Olympic Study Centre, International Olympic Museum, Lausanne in 2010.
(b) Dr. Sugata Nandi of the Department of History has received the Fulbright-Nehru Doctoral and Professional Research Fellowship, October 2011- June 2012.
(c) Anindita Ghoshal, a PhD student registered under Dr. Urvi Mukhopadhyay of the Department of History has received Charles Wallace Trust Fellowship from Charles Wallace India Trust to work in various libraries and archives in UK (2014).
(d) Anindita Ghoshal has also been awarded the ‘Gautam Chattopadhyay Memorial Prize’ for Best Paper in the Modern India Section, in the 28th Annual Conference of the Paschimbanga Itihas Samsad, entitled “Udbastu Astityer Binirman: Sthanik Nagarikatwer Aagrasane Chakmara” (In Bengali), January, 2013.

Majority are serving the society as clinicians, counselors, family therapists, early interventionists and teachers.
