Abbreviations used are: Professor – ‘P’, Reader – ‘R’, Lecturer – ‘L’.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE : (i) Uniformly good academic record with Master’s Degree and Bachelor’s Degree with Honors from any UGC recognised University; (ii) Doctoral Degree and / or evidence of continuing research as manifested by publications in reputed research journals.
EXPERIENCE:
Professor:
An eminent Scholar with published work of high quality, actively engaged in research, with 10 years of experience in post – graduate teaching and / or experience in research at the University / National level Institutions including experience of guiding research at Doctoral level.
Or
An outstanding scholar with established reputation who has made significant contribution to knowledge.
Reader
Good academic record with a Doctoral Degree or equivalent published work. In addition to these, candidates who join from outside the University system, shall also possess at least 55% of the marks or an equivalent grade of B in the 7 point scale with letter grades O, A, B, C, D, E & F at the Master’s Degree Level in the relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent Degree from Foreign University .
Five (5) years of experience of teaching and / or research excluding the period spent for obtaining the research degrees and has made some mark in the areas of scholarship as evidence by the quality of publications, contribution to educational innovation, design of new courses and curricula.
Lecturer:
Good academic record with at least 55% of the marks or an equivalent grade of B in the 7 point scale with letter grades O, A, B, C, D, E & F at the Master’s Degree Level,in the relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent Degree from Foreign University . Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, candidates should have cleared the Eligibility Test (NET) for Lecturers conducted by the U.G.C., C S I R or similar Test accredited by the U.G.C.
NOTE: NET shall remain the compulsory requirement for appointment as Lecturer for those with Post – graduate Degree. However, the candidates having Ph. D Degree in the concerned subject are exempted from N E T for P.G. Level and U G Level teaching as par U.G.C. norms.
The Council may relax, if so recommended by the Selection Committee on specific grounds the stipulations regarding qualifications and years of experience in case of candidates possessing exceptionally good academic records and / or outstanding capabilities of teaching/ research. The Selection Committee may also consider suitable persons who may not formally apply.
The University reserves the right to determine the number of candidates to be called for interview.
Appointments will be made on probation for one year which may be waived or extended in exceptional cases and will be guided by the rules as framed and / or amended from time to time. Candidates already in employment should apply through proper channel.
